The Government orders RRR and profile departments to prepare the proposals on railroad transportation reforming

The government of the Russian Federation has ordered to the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Transportation together with the interested federal executive bodies and OJSC “RJD” to analyze the results of the structural reform in the railroad transportation and present the proposals on further reforming of whole the railroad transport including development of cargo transportation market in the first quarter of 2010. Besides the Ministry of transportation, the Ministry of Economic Development, Federal Customs Service, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industrial Production and FAs together with the OJSC “RJD” were ordered to complete projects of investment programme and financial plan of the “RJD” for 2010 and for planned period of 2011 and 2012. Special attention should be paid in particular to optimization of expenses of the passenger federal company to be created and the measures to ensure its profitability, - the government believes. The talk is also about implementation of the measures for increasing the energy efficiency as well as those intended to ensure the protection of infrastructure and vehicles against illegal interference.

Also the government has ordered the profile departments and “RJD” to present by December 20 the proposals about economically justified level of tariffs indexation in 2010 for cargo rail-road transportation.
